The church was a mystery in the Old Testament – created in Acts 2
It is the greatest demonstration of the manifold wisdom and glory of God – Ephesians 3:9-10, 20-21
We are here to:
. Witness to Christ
. Proclaim the gospel
. Make disciples of all nations – Matthew 28:19-20
Two statements regarding the mission of the church to help us know what we are to be about
1. It Is The Dwelling of God – Vs. 15a
. It is a family
. God dwells in His people – Ephesians 2:19-22
. The church is the primary place where disciples are made
. It is where you come into contact with the Living God – Psalm 42:2, 84:2
. To become more like Christ
2. It Is A Defender of Truth – Vv. 15b-16
. It does not define or create the truth
. It proclaims THE TRUTH – objective truth
Implications:
. 1. We must teach the truth
. 2. We must live the truth
