Trusting God. By Jerry Bridges
Life is not easy. The Christian life is not easy either. And if we are honest, we have found ourselves in circumstances where we have asked questions like, “Why is God allowing this?” or “What have I done wrong?” When unexpected situations arise that appear unjust, irrational, or even dreadful, we feel confused and frustrated. Before long we begin to doubt God’s concern for us or His control over our lives. In times like that, we need reminders of God’s faithfulness and must remember that we can and should trust Him fully.
In his book Trusting God Even When Life Hurts, Jerry Bridges aims to demonstrate God’s sovereignty over every detail of life and to encourage God’s people with the realization that God does indeed love them and that He works out all the circumstances of their lives for their ultimate good. His book is written for the average Christian who has not necessarily experienced major catastrophe but who does frequently encounter the typical adversities and heartaches of life. If your trust in the Lord is lagging, let this book help you once again trust in God!
