We exist to display God's glory, declare God's truth, delight in God's Son, and disciple God's people

Cleansing The Temple

Matthew 21:12-17

Ungodly, unbiblical worship is always an abomination to God
Leviticus 10:1-3, Matthew 15:7-9, Romans 1:21-25
This is the second temple cleansing – the first was in John 2:13-17

Four Points That Demonstrate The Danger of False Worship
1.  The Righteous Indignation – Vs. 12
.         Mark 11:16, Isaiah 56:7, Jeremiah 7:11, Zechariah 14:21, Malachi 3:1-2
2.  The Miraculous Restoration – Vs. 14
.         Not welcomed in the temple
3.  The Intense Opposition – Vs. 15-16a
.         Jesus is Who He says He is
4.  The Prophetic Exaltation – Vs. 16b-17
.         Psalm 8:2

Three Implications
1.  The kind of worship that pleases the Lord is pure and defined by God
2.  Jesus is the object of that worship
3.  You do not need to be sophisticated to perceive spiritual truths; you need to be humble
