We exist to display God's glory, declare God's truth, delight in God's Son, and disciple God's people

The Sanctifying Power of the Word of God

Psalm 19:7-9

WHAT WE BEHOLD IS WHAT WE BECOME – John 17:17

The Bible teaches we are not under the Mosaic Law – Romans 6:14, 7:6
All the Old Testament Law can do is expose – not solve – our sin problem – Romans 3:28, 8:3-4  It can only judge – Romans 4:15, Galatians 3:13, 24
However, we are under law today; the law of Christ – 1 Corinthians 9:21, Galatians 6:2, James 1:25, 2:8

There are six ways the law of God benefits our sanctification:
1.  It transforms us from the inside to turn our hearts to the Lord
2.  It instructs us in wisdom, bears witness to the nature and attributes of God and gives us the ability to discern right from wrong  Ephesians 4:11-14
3.  It fills us with joy – Jeremiah 15:16
4.  It guides us with clarity – Psalm 36:9, 119:105, 119:130, Proverbs 6:23
5.  It provides us with certainty – Isaiah 40:8
6.  It schools us in truth
